But there is no harm in following this method as it works absolutely fine without any issue. You gonna need a working Laptop or PC to flash the service bootloader file which can be downloaded from the link given in the download section.
Nokia 2.1 Specification
Nokia 2.1 is a budget-oriented smartphone. It is having 5.5 inches with FHD+ display, 1280 x 720 Pixel Screen resolution. It is running on Android Pie 9.0 and having a 1.4 GHz SD425 SCO Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor. It is having internal storage of 8GB which is quite big to store apps, games, photos, etc. And 1GB RAM which makes the device super fast. It also has a 5MP depth sensor secondary camera which clicks amazing selfies and 8MP primary camera which also clicks some amazing shots. Nokia 2.1 has a 4000 mAh battery.
What is mean by Unlocking Bootloader on Nokia 2.1?
The bootloader is a code which is present in every operating system. If you unlock the bootloader of any device then you can do all the things which required an unlocked bootloader. If you want to root your device then unlocking bootloader will be the first step and after then you can install TWRP recovery and you can root your device, and you can install custom ROM also. Once you Unlock the bootloader of Nokia 2.1 you can perform so many things.

Pre-Requirements
- This guide is only for Nokia 2.1.
- Your device’s battery must be 50% charged or above.
- You must need a working PC or Laptop along with USB cable.
- Take the backup of your important files, photos, etc.
- Download and Install ADB and Fastboot Driver
- Follow all the steps very carefully and don’t skip any step.
How to Unlock the Bootloader of Nokia 2.1?
- The first and most important thing you have to do to unlock the bootloader of Nokia 2.1, is you have to download the E2M-0390-0-00WW-B02 which contains service bootloader file if you have Android P then download this firmware E2M-108C-0-00WW-B01.
- Now once the download is done extract the E2M-0-0390-00WW-1-2-emmc_appsboot_service.zip in the same folder where you have installed your ADB and fastboot drivers to get service bootloader file, at the time of extracting it will ask for the password and you have to enter “WLBGFIH123”.
- Now, you have to boot your device into Download mode by holding Volume Down + Power for some seconds.
- Now take out the USB cable and connect your device with your Laptop/PC.
- Now type this command in Command Prompt/Powershell windowfastboot devices
This command will let you know whether your device is connected properly or not. If it is not showing your device name in the window then you have to reconnect your device and install the drivers manually.
- Now enter this command to flash the service bootloader file
fastboot oem dm-verity (md5_of_serial_number) - Enter this command now,
fastboot flash aboot /path/to/E2M-0-0390-00WW-1-2-emmc_appsboot_service.mbn
fastboot reboot-bootloader -
Now your phone will boot into the service bootloader, now inorder to grant the permission you have to enter the below commands
fastboot oem dm-verity (md5_of_serial_number)
fastboot oem fih on
fastboot oem devlock allow_unlock
- Now to unlock the bootloader enter,
fastboot oem flashing unlock_critical
- Now after erasing of your device is done. Enter the below command
fastboot oem alive
(wait for triggering to download mode)
fastboot oem dm-verity (md5_of_serial_number)
fastboot oem fih on
fastboot oem devlock allow_unlock
fastboot oem unlock-go
- Once it is restarted disconnect it from your PC.
